The skateboarding project of Michael Leon and Reese Forbes, stacks, makes its return this Spring with a series of skate decks and upcoming apparel drops. Featured are several different designs, including a “The Beetles” Reese Forbes graphic and stacks Dot Logo Print. Accompanying those two releases will be a collaboration pack with Eric Elm’s publishing company And Press. The pack consists of a skate deck and book, titled “Wish You Were Here”, which features 224 pages of 2-color offset on newsprint, printed in an edition of 1000. Look for these to drop mid-April 2010.

Nothing really happens except for African sounding echoes but the arrangement makes it exciting all the way and gets the people to scream. Most of the time when I have been playing it, my colleagues come and ask me what this is and it's always funny to see their reaction when I tell them I got it out of Roger Sanchez's charts!

Over the last year or so, sneakerheads seem to have become more and more disillusioned with recent Jordan Brand releases. The Air Jordan Force Fusion series definitely had a major hand in turning off a lot of longtime Jordan purists, and even with a number of nice Retro releases, there always seemed to be something for Jordan-heads to complain about. That said, there appears to be some light at the end of the tunnel with a very strong line-up of both new and retro releases for 2010. Between the spring and summer of next year, Jordan Brand will be bringing back the Air Jordan VI in four different versions that include both new and beloved OG colorways. On the subject of OG’s, the Air Jordan II will be making a comeback in its original White/Varsity Red/Black “Quarter Finals” colorway. Joining the Retro party will also be a White/Black/Navy snakeskin edition of the Air Jordan XI, which many are speculating to be similar to the Low snakeskin versions that dropped a few years back.

As previously reported on Sneaker News, the Spiz’ike will once again bridge the gap between new and old, paying homage to some classic Air Jordan models with three new colorways, including the super-fresh Bred version that we showed you back in June. On the new model tip, 2010 will see the release of third signature shoe in the Chris Paul CP3 series, as well as the Air Jordan 2010 (XXV), Air Jordan Force Fusion VIII and a variety of other new additions to the Air Jordan family. As part of a final project at the Bezalel Academy of Art & Design in Israel, a student named ELNA created three customized pairs of Nike Dunks and then created a video to help market them. As you will see, the results are pretty impressive. ELNA obviously put a lot of time into giving the often-customized Dunk some of its most imaginative looks yet. Two pairs of Dunk Lows and a Dunk High model have been given colorful makeovers, complete with wild patterns, shapes and vibrant colors. Centric Music follow up their last outing with a sampler for their first compilation, which will appear as a double CD later this year. This is the eighth release on the label and it features original material by Dazzle Drums, Wipe The Needle and Stephen Rigmaiden. As ever, the motto is still ‘no fillers‘, with the three musical outfits present here supplying quality tracks that will rock a variety of floors.

Centric Music is now a home from home for the Japanese husband and wife duo of Dazzle Drums. Kei and Nagi Sugano have released singles on the label in the shape of Elem and Night Heron, alongside remixing DunnEasy’s Rise Up in fine style. As ever, Dazzle Drums bring another deep effort to the table. When not recording for Centric, you can find the duo recording for labels such as King Street and DJing separately at various spots in Japan.

Wipe The Needle is a London based outfit consisting of Swede Mikael Nybom and Londoner Lee Gomez, who create powerful house music in various flavours. They have released music on labels such as Soundmen on Wax, Slip’n’Slide, Deeply Rooted House, GAMM and Raw Fusion. Keen to work with guest vocalists and musicians, they’ve shared studio time with the likes of Aaron Phiri, Nick Van Gelder, Foremost Poets and Ernesto. Take ‘em Up represents their first production on Centric Music, after previously remixing Bruno Banner’s Champions.

Bay Area based Stephen Rigmaiden brings his Californian take on house to the table. He runs Soso Deep and has been responsible for a slew of cuts and remixes on imprints such as Jellybean Soul, Chez, City Deep and Ocha. This is also his debut solo track for Centric, but Rigmaiden was also responsible for a hypnotic remix of DunnEasy’s Rise Up, the sixth release on the label.

This package shows the strength and depth of three musical outfits associated with Centric Music. Except the full compilation to drop later on this year.

Circle is a monstrous dancefloor track, where a cheeky key sample holds the power. Heavy drums and a moody bassline also play their part on this surefire winner.

WIPE THE NEEDLE - Take ‘em Up
Take ‘em Up is an insistent effort from WTN. It features acidic keys, dark synth work and sturdy percussion.

Objekt 5 is a deep and brooding number, which will draw in dancers and keep them hooked. Layered percussion, a fizzing bassline and lost vocal fragments prove their worth on this satisfying cut.

One of the perks of being an architecture firm such as Spain’s Selgascano is that you get to design yourself an awesome place to work. Check out Selgascano’s “office in the woods,” designed by the company’s Jose Selgas and Lucia Cano. It’s one long, tunnel-like office covered by a curved transparent acrylic window that’s 20 millimeters thick and lets in plenty of natural light. The 110-millimeter-thick opaque wall is made from layers of insulated fiberglass and polyester, and shades the office.

To keep things inside cool, one of the ends of the office is attached to a pulley system and the slab can be raised or lowered, letting in some fresh air. Explore more of the office in the woods below, thanks to the gorgeous photography of Iwan Baan.

If you’re checking out this site right now, you’re probably already well versed on the Air Jordan legacy. As hugely popular as Jordans are and have been since the 80’s, there are certain colorways of certain Air Jordan models that transcend the sneaker game as something more than just a shoe. To some, it’s a work of art, and to others, it’s a nostalgic reminder of the good old days of our youth. To many of us, just the mere sight of this Air Jordan VI conjures a series of flashbacks to not only that special time in sneakers, but also to the early days of a subculture that was just starting to emerge in response to the amazing creations that were coming out of Tinker Hatfield’s sketchbook.

The above Air Jordan VI in its OG Infrared colorway is one of those special shoes that is more than just something you put on your feet. Was it the shoes? Only Mike and Spike know for sure, but for most of us, owning a pair of these kicks was as close as we were ever going to come. Whether you had them back then or were smart enough to pick up the Retro version that dropped in 2000, another chance is coming to get your hands on one of the centerpieces of the Air Jordan legacy. The original Black/Infrared Air Jordan VI will be hitting stores again in January of next year, so you’ll have to be patient, but we promise that they’ll be worth the wait.
